Wide-eyed and innocent, Douglas Small
is down on his luck and desperate. Broke and out of work
in Bricktown, New Jersey, his wife and two kids struggling
for their daily bread, Douglas stumbles upon the break
of a lifetime: a newspaper ad that promises, "upwards
of $10,000 a month while you work from home!" The
catch: "Residents outside the Boston area need not
apply." Knowing that if it's in print, it must be
true, Douglas sends his family to live with his mother
in seedy Seaside Heights, New Jersey as he travels to
Boston to make his fortune and save his family. His faith
tested and his family's survival weighing in the balance,
Douglas soon realizes that the social intricacies of Boston
are light years from the simple life he led in Bricktown,
and that his machismo is second to none.

The Last Temptation of Douglas
Small debuted at The Somerville Theater, Somerville,
MA on April 16, 2005. Playing before a sell-out crowd of
130+, the red carpet event was a smashing success. Featuring
the cast and crew decked out to the nines, the paying crowd
got their money's worth and then some. Following the debut,
stars and patrons alike retired to the director's home and
kept up the party atmosphere into the wee hours. It was
a raucous good time and unquestionably the event of the
year.
